Maximize Use of Alternative Fuel

Goal:  Maximize the transition to alternative fuels for all forms of transportation, prioritizing fleet vehicles and river tugs.

   Intended Outcome:  Extensive conversion of vehicles to natural gas and electricity.

Create a Real-time Traveler Information System

Goal:  Create a regional traveler information system to provide real-time information to enable modal and route choices for people and freight.

Intended Outcome:  Travelers - by foot, bike, car, transit, truck, train, air, or other mode - can plan and execute trips based on real-time, region-wide information.

Increase Commerce Through Improved Freight Transportation

Goal:  Develop and maintain a sustainable, multi-modal, interconnected freight transportation system that enables the region to compete globally.

Intended Outcome:  Improved movement of freight to, from, and through the Power of 32 region by highway, rail, water, and air. Elimination of pinch points which delay movement, maintained and improved locks and dams, increased freight movement by rail and waterway, freed up capacity on roadways, and prioritized projects which will have the greatest regional benefit.
